Man charged with murder after missing woman found dead in house
Police have charged a man they arrested earlier with the murder of a missing woman eventually found dead in a house in Sheffield.
Emily Sanderson was reported missing on 25 May, her body was found on Crofton Avenue, Hillsborough, at about 12:00 BST on Tuesday.
The 48-year-old had not been seen since 19 May. A post-mortem found head injuries to be the cause of her death.
In a statement South Yorkshire Police said: “Detectives today charged a 43-year-old man with the murder of Emily Sanderson, whose body was found inside a property in Hillsborough, Sheffield earlier this week.
“Mark Nicholls was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday (2 June) and charged yesterday (Saturday 3 June) with the same offence. Nicholls, of Crofton Avenue, has been remanded in custody and will appear before court tomorrow (Monday 5 June).

“A 40-year-old woman, arrested on Wednesday 31 May on suspicion of assisting offenders, remains on police bail.”
The force said it had made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
