Woman murdered before her decapitated head was found in Paris park is identified
A woman murdered before her head was placed in a sack and dumped in a Paris park has tonight been identified.
Married mum-of-three Assia Matoug's decapitated head was found in a Parisian park on Valentine's Day.
The 46-year-old being mourned by her family after being formally identified by investigators thanks to fingerprints, it has been reported.
Paris city workers discovered the dismembered lower torso of the woman in a bag and alerted the authorities.
Police tracked down other body parts, including a piece found in the Buttes-Chaumont Park, one of the biggest green spaces situated in the northeast of France's capital.

In their investigation, police said the woman was still clothed in blue jeans emblazoned with a floral decoration when she was dismembered.
A source said: "The first bag was found in an area used by park workers to dump waste.
"It was hidden under a pile of leaves, and inside was a section of body cut from below the chest to the knees."

Police have opened a murder inquiry and a major search operation was launched on Tuesday.
A diving team had also been called in to search the lake.
The find came just months after the discovery of the mutilated corpse of a 12-year-old schoolgirl was found in a suitcase in the same district.

An investigating source recently told Daily Mail: “The suspect had boasted about selling body parts. Evidence suggests that the girl was taken into the basement of the flat, where she was tortured, and raped, before being strangled and having her throat cut.

"The suspect is believed to suffer with serious psychological problems.
"She was living on the street, but had friends and family in the Paris area.”
