Black Mirror will be returning for a sixth season on June 15th, Netflix has revealed.

The streaming giant announced the exciting news on Twitter as they shared an official trailer for the show, and it looks more terrifying than ever.

"Black Mirror Season 6 premieres June 15 on Netflix…and also on Streamberry, apparently?" Netflix wrote.

The trailer gives fans a glimpse of some of the upcoming episodes and begins with a young couple trying to decide what to watch on Streamberry, which is a spoof of Netflix.

One of the shows available is Joan Is Awful, with the woman (Annie Murphy) discovering that a global streaming platform has created a drama based on her life, in which she is played by Salma Hayek.

The new Black Mirror series will feature five brand new stories and an A-list cast including Aaron Paul, Michael Cera and Kate Mara.

As well as Joan Is Awful, season six episodes include Loch Henry which follows a young couple who travel to a sleepy Scottish town to start work on a nature documentary.

However, they find themselves drawn to a local story involving some shocking events of the past as it's revealed someone had been abducting the locals.

"The details are so awful, it's irresistible," one of the characters says in the trailer.

Beyond the sea is set in an alternative 1969, with two men on a mission to try and fix the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy.

In Mazey Day, a troubled actress is hounded by paparazzi who want to know the details of a hit-and-run incident.

"She got kicked off the movie set weeks ago. Nick's offering 30k for the first photo of her," it's revealed.

"I'm a crazy person. I'm a murderer," a shop assistant announces in the clip of Demon 79.

The episode is set in Northern England in 1979 as the main character is told she must commit terrible acts to prevent disaster.

Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror's executive producer, has written all the episodes. Demon 79 has been co-written with Ms. Marvel creator Bisha Ali.

Speaking to Tudum.com, Charlie said he started writing season six by "upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect."
