The concerned family of missing Nikki Alcaraz have shared disturbing images of her injuries which they say came after an alleged fight with her boyfriend just days before she disappeared.

Nikki Alcaraz, 33, from Tennessee, US, packed her Jeep with her boyfriend Tyler Stratton for a road trip to California to visit family.

But just three weeks after Nikki disappeared in Moriarty, New Mexico, and showed signs of injuries when she and her boyfriend reached the state on May 4.

A Torrance County Sheriff's Department report showed Nikki with a black eye.

The report claims Tyler was also hit but neither of them chose to press charges - with the pair leaving the police station separately.

Toni Alcaraz, Nikki's sister, told ABC: "There's a lot of possibilities that I'm scared of after not hearing from her for three weeks now."

Toni added: "Her eye was already turning black and you could tell she was beat up pretty bad."

The Alcaraz family allege Stratton attacked her before she vanished in New Mexico.

Her brother Josh, told Fox 10: "He beat her up pretty badly.

"A truck driver had to pull him off of her, call the police, the police picked him up, took him a couple exits down and dropped him off.

"She was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, and a broken hand or wrist."

A family friend attempted to meet up with Nikki in an attempt to bring her to California, but Nikki told him she had to go back and find Tyler.

Toni also received a text from her sister on May 9. It told her she is now in California.

The pained sister continued: "I am scared something happened to them, whether they got in another fight or if they crashed her Jeep somewhere."

According to police, a licence plate reader picked up her Jeep near Arizona last month but there has been no activity on her phone, which appears to be out of service.

Brother Josh has begged for the public to look out for her sister who has not been seen in three weeks.

"We would like everybody to keep their eyes open," he said. "And if you see the Jeep, if you see him, if you see her, call somebody. Call the police[...] Obviously, worst-case scenario is very present in the back of my mind. I'm trying to hold out hope."

Due to fears for Nikki's safety, her disappearance is drawing comparisons to the disappearance and murder of Gabby Petito.

Gabby, 22, tragically died when Brian Laundrie, her fiance, killed her in Wyoming during the couple's van journey in August 2021.

The search for her dominated national news before her body was eventually found on September 19, 2021.

A coroner ruled her death a homicide from "manual strangulation", before Laundrie's body was found in a nature reserve close to the home of his parents with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He left behind writings that showed his "responsibility" for his girlfriend's death.
