TalkTV's James Whale and Lizzie Cundy pocked fun at This Morning on the back of Phillip Schofield 's departure from the ITV show.

Phil made the decision to walk away from the programme on Saturday afternoon after days of speculation, as the pressure piled on for bosses at the award-winning daytime show to act following the events that unfolded.

The presenter, 61, admitted that members of staff at ITV have been aware that the situation surrounding himself and Holly Willoughby can no longer go on following weeks of intense scrutiny surrounding their collapsing friendship. Phil had hosted the show for 21 years.

Alison Hammond, Rylan Clark, Dermot O'Leary and Josie Gibson are among the frontrunners to replace Phil at the helm alongside Holly on the popular daytime magazine programme.

Following the news of Phil leaving the show, James and co-host Lizzie produced a parody version of This Morning during James Whale Unleashed - a weekly show presented by the veteran broadcaster.

With the distinctive This Morning theme tune playing in the background, TalkTV tweeted a video of the introduction to their new show.

James started: "Very warm welcome to This Moaning, where we invite you to moan about anything you'd like."

Co-host Lizzie continued: "Yeah, you can phone about anything you want to moan about. Even James, his jacket and even our producer. Anything you want."

James quipped: "Even her [Lizzie], with all the work she's had done," which shocked his co-star as she insisted she's has never had cosmetic surgery.

He added: "You feel to moan about anything you want. This Moaning we will be bringing you the moaning doctor a little later on and also gardening hints and tips, cookery; it's all going on here."

Lizzie continued: "And we are going to talk about the menopause and the men-o-pause because men get it too."

Earlier this month, James was awarded a one-off TRIC award to celebrate 50 years in TV and radio which was presented by his on-screen colleague.

He is celebrating five decades in the industry and is continuing to throw himself into work, despite his ongoing battle with terminal cancer.

Last year, James revealed that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer which had spread to his brain, spine, kidney and lungs, stating he had months to live.
