WWE legend John Cena makes offer to Harry Kane after being 'flattered'

Spurs fans might be fretting over the thought of Harry Kane meeting with figures outside of Tottenham this season - but they'll surely make an exception for John Cena.

The WWE legend has offered to take the club's record goalscorer out for a "pint somewhere" after being favourably compared to him by an artificial intelligence chatbot. Like Kane, Cena has enjoyed a distinguished career in his chosen sport, a 16-time WWE champion who now splits his time between the squared circle and Hollywood.

But despite admitting he's never met the England captain, Cena was pleasantly surprised by the assessment of Chat GPT. And reading out the verdict to Sky Sports, the 45-year-old claimed he'd never had so much "flattery," despite his popularity within the WWE Universe.

"If John Cena were a Premier League footballer, he would be Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane," said Cena. "John Cena is highly athletic with a strong work ethic and a track record of high performance at an elite level. Based on these traits, he could be compared to Harry Kane."

Pausing briefly to laugh at the wording, he then added: "John Cena’s dedication to inspire could also be compared to Kane, in his tireless work rate, strong leadership and and positive influence on those around him, both on and off the pitch."

It was then that the American star put the script down and delivered his own personalised message to the man heavily linked with a move to Manchester United: "Harry Kane I’ve never met you but you sound like a hell of a guy," he said.

"I’ve never had this much flattery bestowed upon me on my life so Harry Kane thank you for making my day. You’ve made me smile and I got to be called a while lot of nice things because of you. If you want a pint somewhere, then I’m your man."

Whether a dedicated athlete like Kane would be keen to down a pint is open to debate, but who knows, Cena's admiration could yet see the 29-year-old be persuaded to make a cameo appearance at a future WWE event. It's a notion Wayne Rooney embraced back in 2015, famously appearing on Raw to slap 'King Barrett'.

And it's not the first time Cena has shown at least a vague interest in Premier League football either. Last May, he was seen attending Chelsea's final home fixture of the season against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
