The Vamps' Tristan praises 'new world' for allowing singers to 'be themselves'
Tristan Evans has praised a huge change in the music industry as more artists than ever are living their authentic lives.
The Vamps drummer previously opened up about being open-minded following discussions by Harry Styles who has made several comments, admitting that people often take time to find themselves.
Last year, Harry, 29, admitted that people have their "own journey" to discovering themselves after he took the lead role in an LGBTQ+ movie, My Policeman.
He explained that "everyone, including myself, has your own journey with figuring out sexuality and getting more comfortable with it."
Now, Tristan, 28, has praised the music industry after artists are no longer afraid to be their authentic selves.

"There's a lot of b******t with social media but there's a lot of positives where it can promote a good message, there are all these messages out there saying you should be who you are, you shouldn't care what other people say or think – is the main message I love.
"I think that's so powerful about social media, that can just be portrayed around the world in a matter of minutes."

Reflecting on this, Devon-born Tristan said: "Of course, it's a crazy life.
"People want to do so many things and why shouldn't you want to do them, why shouldn't you if 10-20 years said you can't, this is the new world.
"It's exciting times, we're not there yet, we're very far away from where we want to be but we're heading in the right direction, which is good."
Speaking previously to Attitude magazine, Tristan said: "I think I'm extremely open, open-minded to try anything and very experimental, sexually, and when it comes to relationships.
"I've always been firm with what I am."

He added: "Festivals are such a special situation because you're never there for one person, you're there for the vibe and atmosphere and all the different types of music.
"I'm excited to play some summer festivals and get sweaty with the crowds."
But after 11 years in the business, he admits that it never gets easier to change the setlist as it can change the whole vibe.
He said: "The set list changes and it changes the vibe that you want to give to the audience.
"Sometimes you can get away with playing new stuff that people won't necessarily know, so the summer festivals are a bit different – – I think everyone's just there for the vibe and they want to hear music that they know."
The likes of The Vamps, Melanie C, Anne Marie, James Bay and Kelis will be taking to the stage at In It Together.
