Happy Mondays Bez shares sweet reason why he signed up for Dancing On Ice
Music legend Bez could have been entertaining fans on Dancing On Ice a year before he signed up for the programme, he has revealed.
The Happy Mondays sensation who competed on the programme in 2022 had viewers glued to their screens as he took to the "dangerous" ice.
However, he has now revealed he was asked to take part a year prior to his skating debut although he's unsure of the reason why he didn't receive a final call back.
Speaking to the Mirror, the DJ and percussionist, whose real name is Mark Berry said: "I got asked to do it the year before but I didn't get on it for some reason.

The 59-year-old went on to add: "Dancing On Ice, I recommend anyone to do it, it's a great experience.
"Dancing on ice is definitely harder than dancing on the tarmac, it's got that dangerous element about it but yeah, I loved doing the show, I had such a great time.
"Everyone who worked on the show was really good, camaraderie ship between everybody, it was a really enjoyable thing to do."
But while Bez admits it was a nerve-wracking experience, he explained a huge positive came out of the show, a moment he had been waiting almost six decades for.
He often entertains people on Celebrity Gogglebox with bandmate Shaun Ryder (Channel 4)"It's the great thing about it, this year at Christmas, I take the family every year to the ice rink, I was the man of the rink," he said.
He went on to joke: "I was that annoying fella in the middle going fast, doing spins, someone told me I look really graceful, out of it came that moment that I've been waiting all my life."
But while fans loved seeing Bez on the ITV programme, they get an even bigger thrill seeing him sat alongside Happy Mondays bandmate Shaun Ryder on Celebrity Gogglebox.

The musician wouldn't reveal if he would be bringing his maracas (Getty Images)Although Bez doesn't see Gogglebox as a job, joking: "It's not really work doing Gogglebox, it's more sitting down and having a good laugh with my mate.
"I'd love to watch the off-takes they couldn't use, that would be funny."
This year, Bez will headline Mucky Weekender, rlecting on his upcoming set, he said: "It's a great festival, Mucky Weekender.

"I love Barry's [Ashworth] approach to the business – he puts his own festival on so he can headline it, it's a genius idea.
"It's a great little festival."
