Former Tottenham star Jamie O’Hara has torn into Daniel Levy for the club’s current malaise - whilst suggesting Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou would be an ideal manager.

The North London side have endured a rotten campaign. With just two matches of the season to go, they sit seventh and are battling to secure at least a place in Europe.

After sitting in the top four for the vast majority of the campaign under Antonio Conte, their form has utterly collapsed. The Italian was jettisoned after a sensational rant, with his assistant Cristian Stellini and now Ryan Mason entrusted with the reins.

However, O’Hara is clear on where the responsibility lies - with chairman Levy. Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, he said: “Daniel Levy is unbelievable for Spurs as a business manager.

“What he’s done to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club as a franchise is incredible. The stadium that he’s built, the NFL games being played there, the amount of revenue he’s made for Tottenham makes him a genius – one of the best in the business.

“Yet although he’s a brilliant businessman, for Levy to run a football club, for success and to win trophies, he’s horrendous. It’s been 20 years and Tottenham have hardly won anything.”

He added: “Daniel Levy and the mob up there don’t have a clue what they’re doing, do they? It’s just a business and until you start getting rid of all the deadwood it won’t improve.”

Spurs and Levy have a major decision to make ahead of next season regardless of if they qualify for Europe or not. Mason is only in charge on an interim basis with the club searching for a long-term successor.

O’Hara has given his recommendation and believes that Celtic boss Postecoglou would be an ideal candidate and would be tempted to move south of the border. He said: “Tottenham should go after Postecoglou in the summer.

“He’s brilliant and Tottenham are a huge football club. If he got offered the job, there is no way he is turning it down – how could you?

“If he had the opportunity to manage Tottenham in the Europa League or Europa Conference League, or manage Celtic in the Champions League, you’re taking Tottenham. Celtic will get pumped in the Champions League and will be out in the group stages, then they’ll walk the league.

“Celtic are a huge football club but for Postecoglou’s career, there is no way in a million years he would turn Spurs down.”

The Australian is out of contract this summer after a successful stint in Scotland. He has led the club to back-to-back Premiership titles, whilst he also has two League Cup wins to his name.
