EastEnders legend Tracy-Ann Oberman teases killer Chrissie Watts' return
EastEnders star Tracy-Ann Oberman has shared details on how her iconic BBC soap character Chrissie Watts could return.
The 56-year-old actress appeared on Tuesday morning’s instalment of Lorraine, sitting in the studio with Christine Lampard, who is standing in for Lorraine Kelly during the half term holidays.
Tracy-Ann played the wife of Den Watts between 2004 and 2005, before she left the soap when her character Chrissie murdered him.
Chrissie was finally arrested for the crime, having framed Sam Mitchell, who was involved with his death alongside Zoe Slater.
The trio were dubbed the Witches of Walford after dramatic scenes saw them take on evil Den, leading to his violent death.

EastEnders' Tracy Ann-Oberman appeared on Tuesday morning’s Lorraine (ITV)The star has now theorised how Chrissie could make a comeback on Albert Square as Christine pointed out she would likely be up for parole any day now.
Tracy-Ann said: “She’s served longer than most actual murdering prisoners. And, if she’d had a better lawyer, she would have got off on mitigating circumstances.”
Christine was in wholehearted agreement, adding: “Let’s just say, she hasn’t been forgotten, Tracy-Ann. I think it’s about time she got out of that prison and made her way back. Would you be up for it?”

Christine replied: “She was absolutely brilliant and an EastEnders icon,” before turning to the cameras and adding: “There you go. That means it’s happening everybody.”
Actress Kim Medcalf, who played Sam, has already returned to the Square for a storyline involving her on-screen brother Phil Mitchell.

This comes after a tweet by Tracy-Ann has left many viewers speculating the reunion could finally happen and that Chrissie might reappear on the BBC soap.
She was spotted sending a message to EastEnders’ new producer Chris Clenshaw, asking for a follow back on the social media platform.
Fans feel there is unfinished business between Sam and Chrissie (BBC)It read: "Hi Chris can you give me a follow please," and this immediately led to speculation she could be back on the show.

The tweet was followed by her teasing that she was filming for something, as she wrote: "Ooh I love a nightshoot #filming."
