Helen Flanagan revealed she was happy to get a second shot at I’m A Celebrity after her eviction last night.

Dean Gaffney also exited the ITV show when the pair failed their Crate Escape trial.

Ex-Corrie star Helen, 32, said she regretted not tackling the trials a decade ago.

She added: “I wanted a second opportunity and prove I could do the trials. It was really nice to have a second chance.” Helen said she did understand the premise of the series, aged 22 in 2012.

She said: “It sounds stupid as I’m A Celebrity is one of the biggest shows, I didn’t understand camp life, you’ve to work as a team.”

Helen said it was a tough decision to do the series with her kids at home.

She watched her pre-recorded exit with Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and Charlie, two.

Helen said she is proud of what she achieved and will “live life to the fullest” after campmates’ advice.

She said the series had changed her mindset for life, adding: “I found Fatima [Whitbread] really inspiring.”

Helen was successful in a number of trials but she and Dean failed to unlock padlocks inside a box of bugs in the Crate Escape trial. Dean, 45, said he knew he would not be crowned the I’m A Celebrity legend.

He said: “I didn’t think someone who is scared of their own shadow was going to win. But it was worth it. An amazing experience.”

Late entry Dean faced a memorable drinking trial with Joe Swash before they entered the camp.

He said: “My favourite memory is walking towards Ant and Dec for the opening trial because it brought it all back. It was the nostalgia.”
