Pochettino's three-man Chelsea transfer plan emerges ahead of appointment
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be unveiled as Chelsea's new manager sooner rather than later and has already drawn up plans on how to transform the struggling Blues.
It has been a miserable season at Stamford Bridge, with both Thomas Tuchel and his successor Graham Potter losing their jobs as manager before Frank Lampard took the reins on an interim basis. Pochettino is likely to take over from Lampard come the end of the current campaign to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.
Under owner Todd Boehly, Chelsea have already forked out more than £600million on new signings, but Pochettino is keen on adding three new faces to the fold according to the Daily Mail.
Pochettino is thought to have specified the areas he is keen on strengthening, with the first being a new goalkeeper - which spells bad news for both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.
Both of the aforementioned duo have underwhelmed at different stages of their respective Chelsea careers under multiple different managers. However, it is not just between the sticks where Pochettino feels improvements are required.

The midfield has also been identified as a problem area and the former Tottenham boss is expected to try and provide Enzo Fernandes with a long-term partner, which will do little to end speculation that N'Golo Kante's time at Chelsea is coming to an end this summer.

Kai Havertz has tried and struggled to lead the line while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's time in west London has been nothing short of a nightmare for all involved.
Forgotten man Romelu Lukaku is due back from his season-long loan spell at Inter Milan, but there is growing belief that Pochettino will try and cash in on the Belgian rather than re-integrate him into the first-team fold.
Pochettino's desire to add new players to the Chelsea side does not mean the Argentine fails to recognise the need to offload plenty of talent from the Blues' bloated squad.
Undeniably, there is plenty of quality for Pochettino to work with but he'll be under no illusions as to the size of the task that awaits him as Chelsea currently languish 11th in the Premier League table.
With no European football for the Blues next term, Pochettino can commit all his focus to domestic matters as Chelsea aim to restore themselves to their former glories after one of the worst campaigns in their modern history.
