Unlucky bride and groom push back their wedding so guests can watch Coronation

An unlucky Staffordshire couple have been forced to push their wedding back so guests can watch the coronation of King Charles III.

Victoria Abel, 35, and Tim Bayliss, 36, had fixed their date long before the coronation was announced - but later discovered they would be getting married the same day.

The pair, who have been together for 12 years and have a son, admitted they were worried about road closures for street parties affecting their service, but everything has gone off without a hitch - until today, May 6.

Victoria and Tim have decided to push back their wedding at Holy Trinity Church, Eccleshall, by half an hour so that anyone who wants to can watch the coronation.

Victoria said: "We're getting married at half one instead of one. It's just so everybody else who's in the church they can go and watch it and they can enjoy it, we were quite happy to do that.

'I'm spending £20k on a new bathroom - but won't help my brother out with cash'

"You've just got to get on with it really. It's one of them, isn't it? It was a bit frustrating at first. It was last year when we found out - I remember I was ironing some clothes when it was announced on the radio.

"We were worried that everything was going to be closed off. With the church, we thought it was going to affect our day with the things being shut off, because Eccleshall tend to have a street market for that, so we were just worried for that.

"But it's come together quite nicely! We've been to the church and they've got all the England flags and flowers that are all in the same colours.
