I'm A Celebrity campmates face another double eviction after hellish trial

The next eviction from I’m a Celebrity… South Africa will be a double one decided by last night’s trial, Gold Rush.

Viewers were gripped as green team Andy Whyment and Georgia Toffolo took on yellows Myleene Klass and Jordan Banjo.

But they will have to wait until Monday to discover which pair is given the boot from camp.

The teams were chosen by leaders Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney. Dean’s yellows went in stronger, having won two luxury picnics over the past few days.

Myleene said she felt delighted to have been selected by Dean, with whom she appeared on the show back in 2006, after declaring that she was “here to play”.

“I feel proud that he thinks I’m strong,” she said. But Jordan said he was worried about losing and seeing the disappointment on Myleene’s face when she was sent home.

And Dean admitted: “I could be sealing their fate and I don’t want them to go.”

For the greens, who have had a diet of just rice and beans for days after three straight losses, Joe selected Georgia because she is strong on trials while Corrie actor Andy put himself forward.

Toff said: “I feel like I have strength coming out of my body – but this meaning my time in camp ends, I can’t bear the thought of it.”

In the trial, described by hosts Ant and Dec as a “straight race”, the four players had to dig out gold nuggets from inside a muddy mineshaft while lying on a low trolley. They then had to roll out and put them on a scale which was weighted with sand. The winning team was the one to tip the scales first.

While they were digging around in the mud, they were being covered by thick, gooey molasses.

Myleene got off to a slow start after failing to find any nuggets but then got into her stride as Jordan called out instructions. Andy declared the thick molasses was “minging” but kept pulling out the nuggets from the holes in the mud.

He suffered a setback when he dropped one, but that was levelled out when Myleene also lost a nugget as she tried to put it on the scales.

As the show ended last night, both teams were neck and neck.

Earlier in the show, Joe Swash admitted he was gutted not to have been invited back to EastEnders, where he was Mickey Miller for five years.

He said his leaving scene had been underwhelming, adding: “I went to Norwich to be a bellboy at a hotel and mid-scene just walked in The Vic, went ‘see you later’ ... and that was it.”
