I'm A Celebrity...South Africa viewers found themselves shedding a tear during Friday's instalment of the ITV1 programme after one very lucky contestant was granted a phone call from home.

After a very tricky trail, it was Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan who was given the chance to call her three young children at home.

Challenge leader Dean Gaffney, who is best known for his role in EastEnders, offered Helen the chance to call home meaning that Myleene Klass and Jordan Banjo both lost out on speaking to their loved ones.

Given that only one campmate could phone home, Dean said that Jordan was 'strong enough' to go another stretch without speaking to his nearest and dearest.

Despite the fact that Myleene was tearing up, Dean said that she and he were very close, explaining that he knew that Myleene would understand why he was choosing Helen instead of her.

However, not all I'm A Celebrity viewers agreed with Dean, as some called him 'cruel' for leaving Myleene in tears over the brutal challenge.

As Myleene watched Helen walk to the phone to speak to her three children, Matilda, 7, Delilah, 5, and Charlie, 4, viewers took to Twitter to share their sorrow and disappointment for both Myleene and Jordan.

"That was such a brutal challenge and I know Dean had to chose somebody but wow, that's so tough. Poor Myleene," one viewer shared.

"Dear god poor poor poor Myleene," another echoed, while a third agreed: "Dean could have chose wiser."

"That's a horrible task!!! All three should have been allowed to have called home," another complained.

Someone else joked: "Myleene is a stronger woman than me. I would have tackled Helen to the ground."

Despite the divided opinions, Helen was over the moon to have spoken to her three little ones.

"It's made my day. It was so so good to speak to them. It's given me even more determination," Helen gushed.
