Valorant Premier – enroll in the new competitive mode
Valorant Premier is the brand new ranked mode launching alongside the latest patch: Valorant Episode 6 Act 3, which promises to take players to the next level by going 'beyond radiant'.
Valorant Premier is the latest competitive mode, it's a team based ranked mode which promises to take players from their bedrooms, all the way to the top of the Valorant pro scene, by offering in-game leagues that advance to the Valorant Champion Tour’s Challenger leagues. The mode was first announced back in October 2022 on the Valorant website – before going into an alpha in specific territories – and has now launched into an open beta alongside the release of Valorant Episode 6 Act 3.
To participate in Valorant Premier you'll need a team of five people, once your squad is set up you'll compete in two weekly matches at specific times. These matches are played on specific maps with specific rules each week. Teams will earn 100 points per win, 25 points per loss, with teams who earn at least 375 points over the season advancing to the Valorant Premier playoff tournament. The schedule for the open beta is played over 4 weeks with two matches a week for the first three, with one final match and the playoff tournament in the fourth, it's unclear if this monthly season will be standard or if it's just for the beta however.
How to join in the Valorant Premier beta
It's very easy to get into the Valorant Premier beta, with the hardest part being creating a team for those who haven't yet convinced their friends to start playing the game. Here's how to get into the Valorant Premier beta
- Go to the "Premier open beta" tab in game
- Verify your Valorant account using SMS
- Create a team by inviting at least four more players
- Once your team is set, hit the enroll button and select your zone
It's as simple as that, you can have up to seven players in a given team, meaning that you wont be stuck if someone cant make a session. Sadly the enrollment deadline for this month's tournament was on April 28, so any players who haven't yet enrolled will have to wait until the next round of games.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thingValorant Premier schedule
The schedule for the first round of Valorant Premier matches was posted on the Valorant Twitter account last week. Again, the cutoff for enrollment was April 28, so any teams still looking to join in for now. The schedule for this month's matches is as follows:
- Week 1 – Saturday, April 29 and Monday, May 1 (played on Ascent)
- Test Tournament – Wednesday, May 3
- Week 2 – Saturday, May 6 and Monday, May 8 (played on Pearl)
- Week 3 – Saturday, May 13 and Monday, May 15 (played on Bind)
- Week 4 – Saturday, May 20 (played on Haven)
- Playoff Tournament – Sunday May 21
While nothing has been announced regarding when upcoming Valorant Premier tournaments will be happening, based on this month's schedule we could see it being a monthly occurrence, so get a squad together and practise and maybe you could be the next Valorant eSports pro.
