Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's shocked reaction to Darwin Nunez receiving some words of advice from team-mate Thiago Alcantara has gone viral.

The Reds enjoyed a memorable 4-3 home win over Tottenham on Sunday afternoon in a clash that saw the hosts race into a 3-0 lead inside the opening 15 minutes. However, Spurs slowly but surely clawed their way back, with ex- Everton man Richarlison netting what many thought was the decisive goal in the form of a 93rd minute equaliser.

But the drama was not finished there, as Diogo Jota capitalised on Lucas Moura's poor back-pass to restore Liverpool's lead and resign Spurs to a fourth defeat in three games. Interim boss Ryan Mason could barely believe what he was witnessing.

Neither could Klopp, especially when he saw Nunez being handed instructions from midfielder Thiago just before the former was introduced off the bench mid-way through the second-half.

Nunez has previously confessed that he finds understanding his manager difficult at times due to the langauge barrier and this may have been yet another example of that.

"The truth is, I honestly don't understand anything when he talks in lectures," he told TNT Sports back in October.

"Of course, I ask my teammates to see what he said, but I think he is very clear about his style of play, He asks us to do the simple things, not to be afraid to play games, to have confidence."

This link-up between Thiago and Nunez has already been seen before, with the former Bayern Munich midfielder translating some of Klopp's instructions for the Uruguay international back in pre-season training last summer.

That relationship was on full-display once again in the 72nd minute as just before Nunez came on for Cody Gakpo, he was spoken to by Thiago in front of a rather stunned looking Klopp.

The Reds boss has also previously publicly discussed Nunez's language struggles, as he told the media earlier this month: "He is still adapting. His English is still not great. How can a striker shine when the team is struggling? But he has had super moments. This is a long-term project.

"I understand Darwin is not always fine when he doesn’t start, smiling in my face, but it’s absolutely fine. When we have five or six players up front, I have to make decisions."

Klopp did go on to add: "After this season there is another and that is already on my mind now. Maybe we can learn some things to use now, that’s how I see it.

"He can play both, absolutely. He has to learn English. That will help massively."
