Thursday was a tough watch for Will Levis as he got suited and booted for the NFL Draft first-round spectacle only to be left on the board heading into Friday, but he could find his new home with Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay teasing a potential second-round selection.

The Colts already picked up a quarterback from this year’s NFL Draft pool, selecting Florida’s Anthony Richardson at No4. But according to Ian Rapoport, the Colts are expected to pick up another quarterback somewhere in the remaining six rounds, however, the possibility of drafting Levis with their one and only round two draft pick at No4 could be Friday’s play.

“Colts Fans…would you take Will Levis at #2 if you’re on the board for Colts in 4 hours from now???,” Irsay tweeted with the hope of rallying support for a quarterback cohort including two 2023 draftees. “… and go Montana - Young for Franchise??”

Irsay is, of course, referencing Steve Young being drafted to the San Francisco 49ers in 1987 to understudy Hall of Famer Joe Montana. However, what makes Irsay’s comparison baffling is that Montana was an NFL veteran at that point in time, whereas Richardson, like Levis, is a rookie.

Irsay’s suggestion fell flat on social media, being widely mocked as a bonkers idea. Whether the Colts owner listens to the fan’s opinion on Levis is yet to be seen.

“Mr. Irsay, I’m not a Colts fan, but I feel like it’s my duty to step in and urge you to NOT do this,” one NFL fan graciously pleaded with the Colts owner.

Another said: “The Literal Colts Owner asking the fan base if they should draft a QB today after drafting a QB yesterday is… Quite a tweet.”

Richardson, and maybe Levis, could be the facelift the Colts need at quarterback. "I feel like I've been dealing with pressure my whole life, so pressure isn't anything new for me," Richardson said.

"And playing at the University of Florida, I feel like it was a lot of pressure in that as well. So pressure doesn't do anything but create legends. Pressure is only hard if you're not prepared. So I'm going to make sure I'm prepared to the best of my ability."
