Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man possibly connected to an “altercation” at a play area.

Emergency services rushed to a house off Victoria Road, in Nuneaton, on Wednesday morning where they found a 36-year-old man who was declared dead at the scene after paramedics were unable to save him.

The identity of the man has not yet been released by Warwickshire Police who first announced that two boys aged 15 had been arrested on suspicion of murder and then on Wednesday evening a 15-year-old girl from Nuneaton was also arrested.

The three arrested are being held in custody and their names have also not been released.

Detectives believe that "an altercation which took place yesterday in the Snowhill Recreation Ground at 6.15pm may be connected with the death."

Warwickshire Police said they are "asking for anyone who witnessed it or who may video or dashcam footage to get in touch", adding that they know there is "footage circulating of the altercation".

Detective Inspector Collette O’Keefe said: “We would ask anyone with information to get in touch with us as soon as possible."

DC O'Keefe confirmed that there will continue to be a police presence in the Hartshill area but stressed that they believe it was an isolated incident.

"Though we believe this to be an isolated incident, with no threat to the wider public, residents can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area for their reassurance," she said.

"We are aware there is footage circulating of the altercation on social media and we would ask people not to share it while we continue our ongoing investigation to work out the circumstances behind this man's death.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this sad time."

Any witnesses or those who can help the investigation should call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 90 of April 26.
