A family of four can stay at Pontins for just £5 per person, per night in May.

As the weather begins to warm up and the rain hopefully stays away, a family trip to the seaside seems like a great idea.

If you're hoping to get away from it all for a few days, then Pontins' holiday parks are a great bet.

At the moment the firm is running a series of offers as part of its Crocs Bargain Corner promotion.

Breaks are available from £49 for two-night stays and £79 for four-night stays - the latter bargain working out at £5 per person, per night.

At the start of May a family of four can stay at the Camber Sands camp for four nights, for £79, while the same length break is also going for the same price at Prestatyn Sands.

In the middle of May four nights at Southport are on offer for £79.

There are also three, four and seven night stays available across five UK sites, so you can choose the one most attractive to you.

All of the stays are self-catering which means you can keep the cost of food and drink down to a minimum, even if it is a bit more of an effort.

The seaside breaks are perfect for Spring when guests can rush to the local beaches and join Pontins' character Cros for “frights and surprises” ahead of Halloween.

There’s plenty to do onsite for those who don’t want to explore the local area.

Activities include restaurants, takeaways and bars, amusement arcades and a heated indoor swimming pool.

Plus, crazy golf, trampolines, go karts, fun bikes and live entertainment – from tributes to WAW, magicians, cabarets and the Bluecoats team with bingo.

Those on the hunt for a fun break in the UK might want to consider Drayton Manor, which has revealed plans to open a new ride at Thomas Land to delight Thomas & Friends super-fans this weekend.

On Saturday 29 April the first members of the public will be let loose on Thomas & Percy’s Submarine Splash, a baby flume featuring two mini drops.

It is opening at the resort in time to celebrate Thomas Land’s fifteenth anniversary, providing an exciting new addition at the attraction.

Visitors will board at Brendam Docks to help Thomas and Percy deliver the submarine to Vicarstown Museum, with help from Thomas’ good friend, Harold the Helicopter.

Thomas Land has seen more than 10 million visitors since opening in 2008 with rides such as Cranky’s Drop Tower where riders are dropped into action, as well as Thomas, Rosie and Percy Engine Tours which have travelled a total distance of 4,350 miles.
