Mason Mount urged to make "good value" transfer as Thomas Tuchel seals reunion
Having been knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid on Tuesday, Chelsea will now set their sights on planning ahead for next season.
The Blues are looking for a new manager after axing Graham Potter earlier this month and seeing interim replacement Frank Lampard fail to win a single game so far. Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are widely viewed as the favourites to take over.
Chelsea are also expected to be active in the transfer market with both incomings and outgoings, having forked out a whopping ££20m in the January transfer window and more than £250m last summer. Here's a round-up of the latest news from Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool urged to sign Chelsea star Mount
Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount is set to be out of contract next summer and has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge. And former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes Mount would be a "good value" signing for the Reds.
"I think they [Liverpool] need two or three [new midfield players]," he told talkSPORT. "Ox [Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain] will go, [James] Milner will go, [Naby] Keita will go.

Leao plays down Chelsea rumours
One of the hallmarks of Chelsea's disappointing campaign has been their struggles in front of goal, with the Blues having a negative goal difference in the Premier League. Not a single player has hit double figures this season and as a result they have been linked with a number of forwards.
AC Milan star Rafael Leao is one of them, with last season's Serie A MVP last season out of contract in 2024. However, Leao has played down talk of an exit and insisted he is ready to commit to a new contract with Milan.
"I want to stay here at Milan, yes — but there are some things to resolve," he told Sky Sport Italia. "I'm still under contract for one more year, we're in talks. I feel at home at AC Milan. I’m so, so happy to be here. What matters most now is that we're in the semi-finals, it's a great season and I want to continue helping the team."
Chelsea coach to join Bayern
Thomas Tuchel is finally set to be reunited with coach Anthony Barry, after Bayern Munich reached a compensation agreement reportedly almost £1m with Chelsea.
Barry has been a member of Chelsea's coaching staff since 2020, having been brought into the fold during Lampard's first stint as manager and also working under Tuchel and Potter.
In his first press conference after being appointed Bayern boss in March, Tuchel revealed he wanted Barry to join him in the Bundesliga and Chelsea asked him to stay away from Cobham as the two sides negotiated his exit. And the Times is now reporting that an agreement has been reached for Barry to leave Chelsea and reunite with Tuchel at Bayern.
