Jack Nicholson, 85, looks dishevelled as he is seen for first time in 18 months
Jack Nicholson has been pictured for the first time in 18 months after friends shared fears the Hollywood star would die alone.
The 85-year-old actor was spotted looking dishevelled as he stepped out for some morning fresh air at his property in Beverly Hills.
The Shining star appeared on his balcony wearing a misshapen peach coloured t-shirt and baggy navy trousers.
His unbrushed hair stood up and he sported his usual unshaven look. He had a pair of yellow sunglasses placed alongside him on his wooden coffee table.
He appeared to be enjoying the sound of nature as he sat on his balcony and took in the sunshine.

At one point, the star of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was spotted peering up to the skies as a helicopter passed overhead.
His rugged appearance comes as sources claimed a number of his friends had feared he might die alone in a similar manner to his former next door neighbour and on-screen legend Marlon Brando.

The unnamed friend told Radar Online at the time: "'He's made it clear his home is his castle. But people just wish he'd come out of the house and pop up to tell them how — or at least reassure folks he's OK.
"Jack's in touch with certain relatives — especially Ray, his protégé, who he's so proud of — but his socialising days are long gone."
It's unclear whether Jack has had companionship, with his most famous relationship with Angelica Houston ending almost 25 years ago.

His last appearance on-screen came in the 2010 flick How Do You Know. The production, which also featured Owen Wilson and Reese Witherspoon, was far from his biggest accolade and it's rumoured he quit the industry as he was struggling with remembering his lines.
The star is a dad of six but his estranged daughter claimed in January he wasn't interested in having a relationship with her.

She said she has never had a bond with the 85-year-old Hollywood star and he has never publicly acknowledged his paternity.

Speaking to The Daily Beast at the time, Tessa said: "My mum wanted me to have a relationship with him, but he said he wasn’t interested. I was dealt a really s****y random card, but I’m not gonna let that destroy me."
Jack has five other children. His first child, Jennifer Nicholson, was born in 1963 during his marriage to Sandra Knight.
Seven years later, he welcomed son Caleb Goddard with Five Easy Pieces co-star Susan Anspach and a year later he had Honey Hollman, with model Winnie Hollman.
The actor shares his youngest children – Lorraine and Ray – with actress Rebecca Broussard.
