If you're looking to pick up the Nvidia RTX 4070 then here's everything you need to know including where to buy, the price and information about the Founder's Edition.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is the newest addition to the 40 series lineup of graphics cards from Nvidia and seemingly fulfils the need for a midrange option. Despite coming in at a higher cost than its predecessor – the RTX 3080 – this card still has a relatively justifiable price tag when considering the price of the other cards in the line.

You can currently pick up the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 for £589 / $599 / AU$1,109. Based on the specifications and performance promised by Nvidia, this price point seems reasonable. But we've not had the chance to test and benchmark the card for ourselves here at Mirror Gaming, so we'll keep you updated on whether or not this rings true.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU: where to buy

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is currently available to buy in both the UK and the US at a range of retailers. You'll find that the price varies due to the multitude of cards coming from partner manufacturers as the aesthetics and specifications are typically different. Be sure to check exactly what you're getting your hands on before confirming your purchase.

UK Retailers

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 at CCL Computers: You can find a wide range of cards available at CCL Computer. Stock is still available on most graphics cards here so you can pick them up right now.

The new GPU isn't listed on the Currys site just yet, but this retailer has historically stocked and sold the newest 40 series graphics cards from the release date so be prepared.

Again, the cards aren't listed for sale here but it's likely that we will see listings going live very soon as we have done in the past with Argos.

It can be hard to find stock for graphics cards at Amazon, but it had quite a few listings for the 4070 Ti on release. It hasn't followed suit with the RTX 4070 yet but fingers crossed.

US Retailers

Best Buy currently has the card listed and you can purchase it right now as long as you have a Best Buy account. This is to ensure that stock is allocated to everyone fairly, preventing scalping.

The card isn't listed on Walmart, but it typically stocks cards on release day so keep an eye out here.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU: price

The only confirmed price for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU we have as of yet is £589 / $599 / AU$1,109 which is the cost of the base card when purchasing directly from Nvidia. However, as has been the case with every single card in the Nvidia 40 series lineup, cards from partner manufacturers will come in at a slightly higher price point due to different specifications and designs.

You'll find that this is priced at £100 over the launch price of it's predecessor which retailed for around £500. This was to be expected given the price hikes the other graphics cards in the series have seen. It seems as if this is the new ballpark region for the cost of mid-range options.

Most third-party cards are retailing for a similar price point, even with additional specifications with some such as the Palit Geforce RTX 4070 coming in at retail cost.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU: Founder's Edition

Unlike the earlier released Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti, the newer, but lower-in specifications RTX 4070 will actually feature a Founder's Edition. You can pick these up straight from the Nvidia Store however, the stock is low. We're already seeing that they're out of stock in the UK, however, it's likely that a few more will hit the virtual storefront as the Third Party cards are released later today.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU: specs

You'll find that some of the technical specifications, such as the memory size and type, are identical to that of the RTX 4070 Ti, showing that hopefully, it isn't too much of a downgrade in power. However, based on the significantly lower CUDA Cores, despite hosting the same AD104 GPU die.

With many newly released GPUs having a significant power draw, PC gamers are always worried that they may have to upgrade their PSUs alongside their graphics cards. However, this isn't the case with the RTX 4070 as it should only need 200W TDP. This means, in most cases, you won't need to upgrade your power supply unit.
