A woman has been left fuming after two strangers strolled onto her property and brazenly stole her bathtub.

Silvia Beirao, 46, was renovating her bathroom yesterday and temporarily placed the tub outside her home in Orpington, Bromley, South East London, to give herself more room.

But after carrying out some work on the property, she was left stunned as she noticed that the tub was nowhere to be found.

Checking her recent doorbell camera footage, the engineer was lost for words when she watched a man and a woman in hi-vis jackets stroll onto her property and walk away with the bathtub in hand.

The video, in which Silvia's garden can be seen, shows the unidentified pair checking out the property as they approach it from the pavement.

They then walk onto the property and the woman grabs the back of the bathtub while the man holds it at the front, before walking back out onto the street in the direction they came from.

Silvia explained that she had warned off two other people the day before when they had turned up at her front door asking whether the bath was scrap.

She had confronted the pair and explained that the bath was not scrap - but it appears the thieving couple from the video did not even bothered to ask.

Silvia now hopes to get her bath back in an appeal posted to social media, writing: "Does anyone recognise these people?

"I had a bath on my drive and they just helped themselves without asking, it would be good to bring it back."

Her post received dozens of likes and comments from users who were left shocked at the brazen nature of the pair.

Carole Harden said: "What a cheek, when I had a big skip full of stuff on my front lawn all the collectors knocked first, it did me a favour as kept giving me skip space back."

Vicky Sharman said: "So rude, unless it is pretty much on the edge of the pavement or has a note on it, they should knock."

Meic Harries said: "This happens far too often, who the hell do they think they are?"

Speaking today, Silvia said: "I'm just renovating my bathroom myself and putting the old bits outside, some bits were to take to the dump myself and other bits would be reused.

"I had people knocking on my door the day before asking if they could take the bath and they left it alone after I said no to them but these two have just taken it.

"They walked into my private property, grabbed my bath and walked away. I would like to get my bath back."

Scrap can be a lucrative business with baths making up to £300 when broken down for parts including copper and brass.
