Woody Cook may be the son of music royalty with his parents being Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim but he has no plans to work on BBC Radio 2.

The musician also joked that his mum is there for the nation as the aunt everybody knows.

The DJ who has landed on his feet and made a name for himself off of his own back and has headlined everywhere from Glastonbury to Ibiza.

But while he's no stranger to radio stations and recording studios, Woody, 22, admits that he doesn't see himself following in Zoe's footsteps on BBC Radio 2.

The musician recently joined his mum at the studio in Wogan House, admitting it was a "surreal" experience before adding: "Take your son to work day, it was funny."

Shedding light on whether he has a future at the station, he said: "No, no, my music style is a bit different, I couldn't play the stuff they play on primetime slots, not to be rude to anyone who enjoys it, it's not my kind of music.

"I feel like I'd go slightly nuts if I had to listen to the same pop stuff that you get a lot of the time there. When I was a kid, I used to listen to Terry Wogan on BBC Radio 2 on the way to school.

"I'm not in enough on celeb culture, everyone is always talking about what Harry is up to, both the Prince and the Styles – it's not my kind of scene."

Woody went on to say: "When you're in a position like that, you're the chatty aunt, my mum is like the chatty aunt of the nation, she's got to know everything going on and talk to so many people."

But while Woody has always had some public presence, he admits that his time at university was "completely fine" but while hw was travelling, people pretended not to know who his dad was, until they became drunk and a Fatboy song came on.

"I feel like anyone meets me I stand on my own two legs," he said of people assuming he's had help from his parents to get further in the business.

However, his dad whose real name is Norman Cook was left speechless when somebody asked him what Woody was up to.

This year, Woody is returning to Mucky Weekender as a headline act alongside the likes of the Dub Pistols and his Celebrity Gogglebox co-star, Bez of Happy Mondays and Acid House fame.

"To now be back and a headliner, I'm overwhelmed."
