Inside 'haunted' forest where terrified locals say they hear cries of children
UFOs, black panthers and the ghost of a crying child are just a few of the paranormal sightings reported in this forest in the heart of the UK.
Neighbours have long claimed Cannock Chase is haunted by mythical beings and creatures.
One being which is said to haunt the forest is 'The Black Eyed Child', said to be the ghost of a girl with black, sunken eyes.
References to the child go back to at least 1892 when the local newspaper ran a fictional story on a child with the same description.
Other mystical creatures include Pig man, half-man and half-pig, as well as black panthers - which were claimed to be released into the forest decades ago.

Charlotte, 30, who moved to the area in August said she believes the sightings were just made up.
She told BirminghamLive: "Apparently there is some girl in the woods, my brother told me. I quite often walk the dog around here but I don't see anything.
"There is also Pig Man. It's like - what is that about? It is probably people going into the woods and doing drugs.
"The people who made these stories up probably don't live around here. I would like to know where they get it from, the only thing I ever see is squirrels."
William Prime, 69, was open to the idea of mystical beings in the forest in Staffordshire, in the Midlands.
He said: "I have been here for four years. I have never seen anything but it is very interesting when you look at the history of Cannock Chase.
"I'm not religious or anything. Is there an afterlife? I honestly don't know."
William said he believed in the idea of a haunted forest after running a pub in Kent with his ex-wife which was also supposedly "haunted".
He added: "Our pub in Kent was supposed to have been haunted. Two little children were murdered there, apparently.

Jan, a dog-walker, said she had heard rumours of a "black panther" on the loose after a resident said they had a photo of a sheep which had been killed in a way only a large animal could do.
But she believes "drug activities" in the forest at night are the only suspicious activities.
She said: "I used to walk up the road, on my own, in the dark. Since coronavirus, we have got a lot of drug activities. You used to never see a car."
Many other walkers have claimed to hear "screams" and "laughing children" coming from the heathland.
One woman told paranormal investigator Lee Brickley she ran towards the sound of screaming and saw a girl standing who she believed was no more than 10 years old, with her hands covering her eyes.
In a post on Lee's paranormal website, she said: "It was as if she was waiting for a birthday cake. I asked if she was OK and if she had been the one screaming.
"She put her arms down by her side and opened her eyes. That’s when I saw they were completely black, no iris, no white, nothing."
