Madonna has been defended by her close pal Debi Mazar after the singer was cruelly trolled for her appearance.

The Queen of Pop is thought to be deeply "affected" and upset after she was accused of having plastic surgery, with trolls suggesting she "should focus on ageing gracefully".

The 64-year-old sported a different look at the 2023 Grammy Awards, with Madonna later slamming the criticism she received.

Now actress Debi, 58, has said "only the strong survive" as she gushed over her "beautiful" friend.

"I don't pay attention to any of it. I think Madonna is beautiful and I don't pay attention to what people say about me or about anybody.

"Everyone has an opinion these days and the only way really to survive, only the strong survive, is not to hear all the noise," she said as she attended the Miscast23 Gala.

Speaking to Page Six, she reiterated: "I think Madonna is beautiful."

Debi's comments come after an insider revealed Madonna is determined to return to her natural look ahead of her sold out Celebration tour.

The source said: "Despite what people think, the criticism over her drastically different appearance does affect her."

They the added that Madonna is currently undergoing procedures that will take her back to her natural look.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the source added: "She sees and hears what people say about her and, for the tour, she wants to look more like herself again for her fans."

Madonna clapped back at the cruel comments following her appearance at the Grammys in February.

"Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech which was about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam and Kim, many people chose to only talk about close-up photos of me taken with a long lens camera by a press photographer that would distort anyone's face.

"Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in.

"A world that refuses to celebrate women pass [sic] the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working, and adventurous," she wrote on social media.

She continued: "I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come."
