The most anticipated event in all of the land now has invitations - and people have been analysing them, trying to decide whether they're a fan of the floral design or not.

Those lucky enough to be on the guestlist for the Coronation of King Charles III have been sent invitations featuring a horticultural-inspired design, inspired by the lush glorious greenery of the British countryside. While most love the colourful print, some aren't as keen - with one even joking that the King 'should've gone to the Paperchase closing down sale' instead.

One disgruntled Twitter user wrote: "Sorry but this invite is tacky. There's better stuff in the Paperchase closing down sale."

The invitation reads: "The Coronation of their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

"By command of the King the Earl Marshal is directed to invite", then the name will be inserted, "to be present at the Abbey Church of Westminster on the 6th day of May 2023."

Around the border of the invitation, there are butterflies, blooms, bees, and a 'jolly green giant sweetcorn guy', who the man said was 'too wide in the face!!!'

Some people agreed with him, writing that: "It's giving card factory."

"It's like a template you find for free on the web", said another.

"It's giving the mural in Midsommar", a creeped-out commenter said, referencing the creepy 2019 film.

Someone wrote: "Why does it look like one of those star of the week certificates from primary school", followed by a crying emoji.

But some people loved the design, with someone pointing out that it obviously meant a lot to the monarch, saying: "I actually like it and it is about him after all and the design shows his love of nature and wildlife and the fact we desperately need to protect it!", using the hashtag 'green king' to symbolise his love of nature.

Another defended it, writing: "I quite like it. Colourful, symbolic, produced on recycled paper...Very little to dislike about it from where I'm standing."

Do you like the invitation? Let us know in the comments.
