A Polish woman who is claiming to be Madeleine McCann reportedly suffered a skull fracture as a child which erased part of her memory.

Julia Wendell, 21, is adamant she is the missing Brit, who disappeared while on holiday with her family in Portugal in 2007.

Julia recently appeared on Dr Phil to explain why she thought she was the missing person and claimed her medical book had blank pages from her childhood.

Now, according to medical records which have reportedly obtained by private investigator Dr Fia Johansson, it's said Julia suffered a mysterious fracture at the age of eight.

It's reported the brain injury left her unable to speak or walk for more than a year and erased part of her memory.

Radar Online claims the investigator obtained close to 500 pages of Julia's medical records from a hospital in Wroclaw.

The news comes after Julia told Dr Phil she had one vivid memory as a youngster which could help to prove her identity.

In the world exclusive, Julia - who also goes by the names Julia Wandelt or Julia Faustyna - explained the "single memories".

She said: "I have some single memories since eight, nine years old.

"And before eight, I have only this one memory with beach and water, like sea or ocean, and there were turtles and children trying to catch the turtles and take them in their hands.

"And I remembered light-coloured buildings, like white or very light colours, sunlight on this building."

Dr Fia Johansson, a private investigator and medium who is helping Julia and now has been granted power of attorney over Julia, claims her memory has a resemblance to the environment in which Madeleine disappeared.

Appearing on the talk show, she said: "When I put it all together, I thought, 'Hmm, something makes sense and I need to get into why she remembers just that things'."

Reports say Julia "didn't get a dime" for his TV appearance after some criticised her for taking the interview.

Fia added on Instagram : "We didn't receive anything, Julia [didn't] receive anything, Julia just went on the stage and was herself and told the truth.
