Renters asked to shell out £1000 a month for property - but it looks like a shed
House hunters have slammed a "joke" one-bedroom apartment that would cost them £1,000-a-month - because it looks like a shed.
The property description reads: “This lovely annex [sic] has been newly refurbished and is based just outside the town centre and only a five minute walk from the train station.
“Benefitting from parking, private walkway entrance and offered part furnished with all bills included.”
The studio flat has a tiny kitchen with a sink, microwave and small hob and tenants will have to fork out a £1,154 deposit.
The apartment, in posh Maidenhead, Berkshire has caused a further stink with potential lodgers because it's a stone's throw from sewage works.
UK house prices fall again - down 3.2% from last year peak, says NationwideChris Applegate fumed: “One thousand pounds per month for literally a shed in Maidenhead.
“Not even a full mattress on the ‘bed’.
“Is even by British slum landlord standards, gobsmacking.”
Helen Chester said: “Wow. Just wow.”
Ash Whitley said Brits should protest about such pricey properties like the French are over pension changes.
He added: “Is this a joke? £1,000 to rent a shed by the sewage works .
“British folks can we get a little more French please?
“They’re taking the p*ss out of us.”
One local quipped: “Goes and measures shed in the back garden.”
The property is being let by Chancellors and advertised on Rightmove.
