Aaron Rodgers trade latest as Packers and Jets attempt to thrash out deal
After well over a month of communications now, the Aaron Rodgers trade has somehow yet to be resolved and made official.
Both the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets are openly keen to get a deal done before the upcoming NFL Draft, with the former set to receive draft compensation for the legendary quarterback. However, the extent of compensation and the final details of the trade are yet to be agreed upon, with the Packers already admitting that they need 'premier assets' if they are to move Rodgers.
The latest being reported is that the Packers will receive two second-round picks, as well as wide receiver Corey Davis in the deal. And while it is being reported that the deal might not be wrapped up for weeks to come, one has suggested that might not be true, and it could essentially happen within the next few days.
Zach Rosenblatt from The Athletic reported: "In any case, despite those comments, I’ve gotten a sense that the teams aren’t as far apart as many seem to think. Maybe they will take it right up until the draft, but I think the trade will get done much sooner — possibly even by the end of this week.”
When the Packers gave Rodgers an extension last season, he looked destined to end his career with the team. But a poor season followed, as they missed the playoffs, leaving the team at a crossroads in their choices to move forward - do they run it back, or look to Jordan Love.

Green Bay had seen Love as their long-term successor to Rodgers, but that transition was halted after the latter won consecutive MVP awards.
And without wanting to be a part of a rebuilding team, Rodgers made the decision to join the Jets, after being allowed to speak to them earlier this month.
While the teams remain in conversations, they will most certainly come to an agreement before the draft on April 27 - a date to look out for.
