Vladimir Putin has staged multiple nuclear missile exercises involving several thousand troops after vowing to destroy the West.

The Russian leader staged large-scale staff exercises with over 3,000 troops yesterday (Wednesday, March 28) in an attempt to show off the country's massive nuclear capability.

A new video revealed the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile system out on drill in an undisclosed area in Siberia amid Putin's widely ill-conceived war in Ukraine.

"In total, more than 3,000 military personnel and about 300 pieces of equipment are involved in the exercises," he said.

“Strategic missile men will carry out a set of measures to camouflage and counter modern aerial reconnaissance means in cooperation with formations and units of the Central Military District and the Aerospace Forces."

The Russian tyrant has made the Yars missile system - which replaced the Topol system - as part of Russia’s “invincible weapons” system.

The missiles are said to have a range of over 7,500 miles and are capable of striking both Europe and the US.

They also have other terrifying characteristics including multiple independent nuclear warheads and can be mounted on truck carriers or deployed in silos.

The missiles are fully deployed unlike Putin’s hypersonic Sarmat, best known as Satan-2.

The Satan-2 has been subject to delay after it failed to meet a deployment deadline at the end of 2022.

Since the start of its invasion of Ukraine, Russia has conducted many military exercises in countries such as China and South Africa.

It has also increased military training with Belarus, which borders both Russia and Ukraine.

“A commission of the strategic missile forces’ command will assess cohesion among the personnel as they fulfil their tasks,” said the ministry.

Yevgeny Kelgayev, the Missile Regiment Commander who is seen in the video, said: “The Missile Regiment, led by the Commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, has begun taking the Yars missile system out to combat patrol routes and field positions.”

The war games follow Putin’s threat against the West of a nuclear strike if there are any attempts made to defeat and "dismember" Russia and launch an attack.

Nikolai Patrushev, Putin's top security aide, said Russia has the weaponry after multiple supersonic anti-ship missiles were fired into the Sea of Japan in a chilling weapons test this week (Tuesday, March 28).
