Sally Nugent has given BBC Breakfast fans a sneak peak into her wedding day with a rare snap of the big day featuring in the background of a picture commemorating an awards ceremony.

The journalist has been a permanent fixture on TV since becoming a main presenter on BBC Breakfast following Louise Minchin's departure in 2021.

Sally is married but has never confirmed her husband's name or posted pictures of the couple on their wedding day.

However, in an Instagram post eagle-eyed fans have spotted a what appears to be a rare peak at Sally's bridal gown in a black and white framed photograph appearing in the background of one of her posts.

The bride and groom, which is assumed to be Sally and her husband, hold hands in the sweet snap as they pose on their wedding day.

In the picture, the bride is wearing a full-skirted gown and a long veil while the groom wears a black suit and pale tie.

Sally's BBC Breakfast profile page says: "Sally is married with one child – a football and rugby mad boy."

The presenter and her husband have a son together with Sally previously revealing in an interview that it can be difficult finding something for all three members of her family to watch.

"My sofa is in my kitchen diner and there’s a giant flat-screen TV on the wall," she explained to Radio Times. "It’s tricky to get something that my husband, my 13-year-old son and I want to watch.

"During lockdown, we all got hooked on Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix, but it’ll come as no surprise that I’m a news junkie."

Sally began her presenting career at BBC Radio Merseyside before joining BBC North West Tonight as a sports presenter.

She has featured on BBC Breakfast since 2011 but stepped into a permeant position alongside then-co-host Dan Walker after Louise's exit. She now shares the sofa with Jon Kay.
