Valued at less than a third of the price of its neighbours on the street, describing this house as a 'fixer upper' would be a gross understatement.

The four-bed end-of-terrace was gutted by fire nearly five years ago, and is now back on the market in the hopes someone can restore it back to a family home.

At £190k, the charred house in Taunton, Somerset, is a bargain when compared with the average £610k price tag of the neighbouring properties.

While exterior shots of the home show it looking slightly messy, a first glance reveals no immediate signs it was recently struck by a blaze.

However, once inside the property, pictures reveal its smoke stained walls with the living room covered in soot and its ceiling pierced with holes.

The bathroom also has blackened walls, while the entire roof is missing in another room.

The garden is the only part which appears unscathed by the blaze, but it is rather wild and unkempt.

Thankfully nobody was seriously hurt when the fire ripped through the house in August 2018.

Fire services later discovered the property, the rooms of which were being let out to tenants, was fitted with just one smoke alarm.

The owner and landlady later pleaded guilty to breaching fire safety rules and was given a nine-month suspended sentence for the risk posed to tenants.

The house is now being sold at auction by Pattinson estate agents, although its listing on Rightmove claims they are looking for cash buyers only.

The property description reads “A short walk from Taunton's town centre, this property has unfortunately seen fire damage throughout.

“It now requires extensive work but a new roof has been put on the building.

“In addition to the property, there is a one bed annexe at the bottom of the garden which was not harmed by fire or smoke.

It is listed as: “Fire Damaged, which previously held four bedrooms over three storeys.”

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said at the time: "The whole property and adjacent property were damaged severely.

"The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental.

"Duty of care was left with the police and the boarding-up company."
