Chelsea loan report as record signing struggles, defender shines after injury
It is no secret that Chelsea's loaned out list can be longer than their squad list.
The Blues' business model has long seen them farm out a host of individual basis, some of whom improve and come back to stake their case, others are able to earn the west Londoners huge profits. This term it has been a mixed bag for those who've left Chelsea.
The club themselves have endured a difficult campaign and Graham Potter is still assessing his squad to gauge who is staying, who is going and who will feature regularly. That problem may only magnify this summer when a host of players return, but some will give him food for thought.
Others could prove to be a burden on the wage bill, but finding suitors for some big names who no longer appear part of the picture could prove challenging.
We take a look at how those away from Stamford Bridge are getting on.

Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian never justified his mammoth fee last season and headed back to Italy for the campaign back in the summer. At Inter Milan he's had his injury problems and missed a hand full of games as a result. He's only started nine times in Serie A and has been by no means as prolific as he was previously, scoring five times in all competitions with a big decision to be made in the summer.

He seems to be serially loaned out having failed to match expectations throughout his time at Stamford Bridge. Bakayoko is now into his third stint at AC Milan having won the Serie A title last term, but has only played two games in all competitions, both as a sub.
Levi Colwill
The highly-rated defender headed out to Brighton for more minutes this term and looks certain to finish above his parent club. Colwill has only played 13 times such is the competition at the Amex, whilst he's also dealt with his own injury problems, but has regularly featured recently.

Monaco opted to bring the 24-year-old to the south of France and he's been used sporadically, albeit that's more minutes than he would've likely got at Chelsea. The Blues have in fact helped Sarr's development by signing Benoît Badiashile from the Principality club in January with his manager claiming: "Without Benoît, there is less competition, and he can profit from that."
Callum Hudson-Odoi
The winger has been the subject of several German bids in the past, namely from Bayern Munich, and has found himself in the Bundesliga this term with Bayer Leverkusen, where he is working under Xabi Alonso. Hudson-Odoi has only scored the once, but has enjoyed regular outings.
Ethan Ampadu
The Welshman is another player in the Blues squad who seems to be loaned out on an annual basis. He's headed out to Italy this term to join up with Spezia, who are currently fighting against relegation. Ampadu did play in their surprise win over Inter recently.

The 21-year-old midfielder is currently trying to keep Huddersfield in the second tier and is now playing under Neil Warnock, after his return. The Terriers have only used Anjorin on occasion since his loan signing, although this is his second successive season with the Yorkshire outfit.
Baba Rahman
Reading are the club currently with the Ghanaian on their books as they look to retain their Championship status. Rahman has played regularly for the Royals and recently received the backing of manager Paul Ince after a costly mistake saw his side lose at Sunderland.
Dujon Sterling
The 23-year-old has spent the last few years in League One and the Championship with several sides, but currently finds himself at Stoke. The club had to see off stiff competition to land Sterling's services for the season, where he has often played at right-back.
