Liverpool's forgotten man sends Klopp timely reminder before top four run-in
Jurgen Klopp may have to turn to a forgotten figure to try and resolve some of his midfield issues at Liverpool after Curtis Jones excelled for England Under-21's.
The Reds academy graduate has failed to make any kind of meaningful impact at Anfield this term, making just seven league appearances over the course of the entire campaign so far. While some of that has been due to injuries, Jones has also just been overlooked on multiple occasions having fallen down the midfield pecking order.
There have been countless examples recently where Jones has failed to make the matchday squad, let alone get off the bench. His last full 90 minutes in the Premier League came all the way back in October of last year, during the 1-0 defeat away at newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.
With that being said, his performance for the Three Lions under-21 side against France on Saturday evening may make Klopp sit up and take notice as Liverpool gear up for the season's final furlong.
Jones managed to lay on an assist for Chelsea ace Noni Madueke, before the Blues winger returned the favour two minutes later to help the Liverpool man get on the scoresheet himself.

The six-time European champions have been relentlessly linked with a move for Chelsea ace Mason Mount in a transfer that would surely send a pointed message to Jones in regards to his own Anfield future.
Just last month, Jones opened up on how his ambitions have shifted this season as a disappointing campaign both individually and collectively has gone on.
He told the ECHO : "For me personally, at the beginning of the season I was talking about goals and assists. Now I'm at the point where I want to stay fit, I want to play as many games as I can and I want to impact the team as much as I can.
"You've got to learn the defensive part of the game, which was difficult for me as I like to be so attacking. I'm at the point where I've been finding a balance of putting my game together."
Since those comments, Jones has enjoyed just five minutes worth of football across all competitions. He was introduced in the last knockings of the astonishing 7-0 win over fierce rivals Manchester United.
Liverpool currently sit sixth in the table, seven points adrift from fourth-placed Tottenham who have played two games more. Jones could still have a vital part to play as we approach the business end of the season.
