Manchester City sent out a fierce warning to rivals Arsenal in midweek after hitting seven past RB Leipzig as the Premier League title race enters into the business end.

Erling Haaland was back to his rampant form, scoring five goals in just 66 minutes to sweep the German club aside, with boss Pep Guardiola opting to rest his frontman for the rest of the match with bigger targets in sight.

But this weekend City will switch attentions to another competition in the FA Cup, as they welcome club legend and former defender Vincent Kompany in the opposing dugout with his Burnley side. The Clarets have been flying high under the Belgian's watch and top the Championship table, though City will pose a mammoth challenge.

Here's all you need to know about the match.

When is Man City vs Burnley?

The two sides will meet at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday March 18 with kick-off scheduled for 5:45pm.

Burnley have a dreadful record against City - albeit before Kompany's time in charge - having lost 5-0 on four occasions out of the last 10 meetings between the teams. In fact, City haven't lost against Burnley since 2015 and have conceded just five goals in the 15 matches since.

Under Kompany the future looks bright, however, with promotion to the Premier League this season seemingly inevitable, as could be him eventually taking up the helm at City once Guardiola has moved on.

“Personally, I am delighted for his success in Burnley,” said Guardiola recently. “He will be back sooner or later. His destiny to be manager of City is already written in the stars. It’s going to happen. I don’t know when but it’s going to happen."

What channel is it on?

Due to it being an FA Cup game, BBC One have got the rights to show the quarter-final clash, with coverage getting under way at 5:25pm. It will also be available to stream via the BBC iPlayer.

The clash will be the first time Gary Lineker is in the BBC hot-seat following his fallout with channel chiefs that saw him miss Saturday's episode of Match of the Day.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: "Everybody knows it, he's an important crowd figure here. He's one of the biggest legends I had. It was a little bit of a pity that a lot of the time he was injured when we were together.

"But since day one he helped me, I came here from another country, didn't know the Premier League. In the locker room in the bad moments he would all the time make the steps forward to help the team. He was an exceptional captain. A top human being.

"On the other side I'm a little bit concerned because when you start to play a game on the touchline against a player that you had, you realise how old you are becoming. That is a little bit frustrating.

"It's nice to see him, but of course he wants to win, we want to win. We'll take it seriously."
