Lance Reddick took to Instagram just days before his death to sing "the beat goes on".

The actor and musician was found dead on Friday morning in his Los Angeles home at the age of 60. He had been due to attend the premiere of his new film John Wick 4 this week. He stars as Charon in the fourth instalment of the franchise but opted to stay home instead.

Although no cause of death has yet been confirmed, authorities have claimed he died of natural causes.

Four days earlier he posted a video of himself with his dogs on social media.

In the clip, the star could be seen walking about his home as the pet pooched barked and wailed. He sang and the beat goes on as he shared a smile and opened his eyes wide.

He followed it up with a couple of snaps of him and his pets.

The first sees him surrounded by the pooches on his sofa as he smiles at the camera.

While one dog seems interested in the pic, the other three are vying for the attention of their owner.

The second on the reel showed two of the animals licking the face of the star as they climb all over him.

And the third showed a more relaxed image as one of the pets snuggled into him while resting its eyes.

The t-shirt Lance was wearing shared a snap of the dogs alongside the words: "We Love You! Happy Father's Day!!"

He captioned his trio of images: "On screen and off, it's no surprise I love spoiling my dogs. @officialhardrock makes it easy with a full line of @johnwickmovie dog swag available at @hardrockhotels Unleashed locations, and a very special #NationalPuppyDay event at @hardrockhotelnyc to support @animalleague."
