EastEnders fans spot Denise and Jack together in unearthed episode of The Bill
EastEnders fans were forced to do a double-take when a daytime episode of The Bill showed Albert Square husband and wife Denise Fox and Jack Branning.
The re-run of the popular police drama saw fans flock to social media to discuss what they had just spotted.
Actors Denise Parish and Scott Maslen appeared in the Bill long before they landed roles in EastEnders and became wel-known for their long-running characters.
Viewers of the BBC soap have watched as Denise had her head turned by Ravi Gulati and did the dirty behind Jack's back.
With nothing staying secret on Albert Square for long, the affair is likely to be exposed and spark a showdown between Denise and Jack.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessThe pair actually co-starred in between 2002 and 2004. Scott playing DS Phil Hunter, while Diane played the role of DC Eva Sharpe.
And Scott's experience in the Bill would lend himself to the EastEnders as he landed the part cast as Jim Branning's son and played a detective in the drama — although with a somewhat murkier past.
Having built up his career he became involved in criminal activities which backfired when one of Jack's informants knocked his then wife Selina and daughter Penny down in revenge for being accidentally sent down.
Penny's spinal cord was severed, putting her in a wheelchair and, in the aftermath, Jack and Selina divorced and he retired from the police force.
He has since taken on a number of jobs in running the nightclub and dabbling in used car sales before rejoining and leading an investigation into Ravi Gulati.
Denise has come a long way since appearing on the Soap as a cash-strapped single parent before landing a job at the Minute Mart to make ends meet.
The beloved actress, 53, has been Denise since 2006, now runs a salon and has been notably glammed up of late.
Fans were quick to spot her 'lovely outfit' after she lied through to teeth to try and get Jack to believe she was going away for the night to spoil herself.
A second stated: "Denise does look absolutely gorgeous btw #Eastenders", while a third added: "Obsessed with Denise #EastEnders."
The actor told Metro.co.uk: "Ravi understands that he’s under investigation from Jack which Denise reveals, so it’s quickly become a point of survival for him. The most important person in Ravi’s life is his son Davinder, so it becomes a case of battling between going to prison and losing his son, which he really regrets having done that in previous years, or trying to find out the information at any cost."
EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy shows off grey hair and says 'it doesn't matter'''If that means blackmailing Denise, then so be it.''
But after Denise makes it clear she will not interfere with Jack's investigation he set's his sights on her daughter Chelsea.
A family games night next week throws Denise and Jack confronted with hosting Ravi as Chelsea brings him as her plus one to put pressure on the pair.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
