Katherine Ryan claims Oscar's 'snub comedy' and finds award season 'difficult'
Comedian Katherine Ryan has hit out, explaining that people often snub comedy at award shows such as the Oscar Academy Awards.
The star who is no stranger to having people in fits of laughter with her quick wit and sense of humour explained that while she enjoys sitting down to watch movies, she hoped comedy could be widely recognised.
However, Katherine, 39, admits she finds Oscar season difficult as she doesn't like to be "moved" by films and believes that the Academy recognises powerful films.
Speaking candidly to The Mirror, Kathrine revealed she'd rather tune into a "bad film" and hasn't seen a "good" film in several years.
"I don't like good films because good films usually make you feel sad at some point," she said, before adding: "And I don't like to be moved and this is why Oscar season is difficult for me.
