Will Smith wants Chris Rock to 'let it go' after Netflix special calling out slap

Will Smith wants Chris Rock to "let it go" following a Netflix special based on the infamous Oscars slap.

The actor and comedian made headlines for all the wrong reasons after a notorious clash at the 94th annual Academy Awards in 2022.

Smith strode onto the stage and slapped Chris Rock across the face after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.

The incident has left Will Smith, 54, with a 10-year ban from the prestigious award event.

Yet comedian Rock, 58, has been able to use the slap as a source of material for his stand-up shows.

It has reportedly left Will Smith feeling "embarrassed and hurt" as Chris is now set to base a Netflix special on the slap.

The new material in Chris Rock: Selective Outrage includes stinging remarks about the Smith couple, including Jada's extra-marital affair.

Will is said to be affected by the Netflix show, and has called for Rock to "let it go".

In the show, Rock makes multiple jokes about the Smiths including saying Will has "selective outrage".

He also added salt to the wound by referencing Jada's well documented affair.

It came after parents of three, Will and Jada both discussed the actress' 'entanglement' with August Alisna, who was 27 at the time, in 2020.

Jada shocked many when she confessed to having an affair with August Alsina and spilling the details for all to know on her Facebook show Red Table Talk.

A source close to Rock said: "Chris never got a one-on-one private apology from Will, only the public one which really meant nothing."

The insider told the Daily Mail, Rock's decision to rehash the scandal in his Netflix show had nothing to do with seeking revenge.

Rock's Netflix special aired just one week before the 95th annual Academy Awards are due to take place.

Chris has been accused of being "obsessed" with Jada in the series.

A source close to Pinkett-Smith said: "Jada has had no part in all of this other than being heckled. Chris is obsessed with her and that's been going on for almost 30 years.

"Look where he chose to film his Netflix special. Her hometown [of Baltimore]. Obsessed."
