A beaming Simon Cowell looked in great spirits as he was pictured heading home from a charity ball on Friday night.

The Britain's Got Talent judge was papped leaving the Together For Short Lives Ball alongside partner Lauren Silverman after the pair had spent the evening supporting the cause with a series of famous faces.

Simon, 63, and Lauren, 45, were joined by the likes of Christine McGuinness, Peter Andre and James and Ola Jordan at the fundraiser.

Generous Simon had been happy to splash the cash during the evening, bidding £22,000 for a piece of Nelson Mandela artwork.

It is understood that Simon also agreed to a 'big percentage' of profits from his latest TV show to the charity which supports young people affected by life-threatening conditions.

Making a brief appearance on stage at the bash, Simon is said to have left the crowd in 'hysterics' as he rushed back to the microphone after forgetting to give a shout out to his partner Lauren.

He proceeded to tell the room how much he loved his fiancee and was thankful to have her with him.

After the loved-up display, Simon and Lauren made their joint exit.

Before hopping into their waiting car, Lauren underwent a swift outfit change as she swapped her elegant gown for a loose fitting beige jumper, shorts and a baseball cap.

While Lauren cut a casual figure for the drive home, a smiling Simon was happy to stay in his signature black suit and proceeded to give a thumbs up to the waiting paparazzi as they headed off into the night.

In one of the photos, Simon appeared momentarily dazzled as the camera caught him off guard.

During the night, he was seen chatting to his latest BGT recruit Bruno Toniolo, who was joined on the red carpet by former WAG Lizzie Cundy and actress Claire Sweeney.

It's not the first time Simon has been spotted at the annual charity ball, having supported the fundraiser for years.

Simon is also an Ambassador for Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Association for Children's Hospices, Dr Brandon Rogers Memorial Fund, Against Breast Cancer, The Health Lottery, Save The Children, Comic Relief, Battersea Dogs Home, RSPCA, The K9 Angels, PETA, Hope Sanctuary Barbados, and Help For Heroes.

It's expected viewers will see the TV talent show mogul back on screens as early as next month with the relaunch of Britain's Got Talent.

Following the sudden departure of David Walliams, Strictly's Bruno has taken the fourt spot on the panel alongside Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden and Simon.

The Mirror announced in January that Bruno would be returning to Saturday night telly after seeing off competition from rival stars.

Insiders said they were “thrilled” by the deal.

One source revealed: "Bruno has all the right experience and his famous exuberance will go down a treat. He and Simon have long hoped to work together so this has proved the perfect opportunity. Everyone’s very excited."
