If you've ever been in a job interview situation, you know that having notes to look at can be very beneficial. It's a highly stressful and nerve-wracking situation, so knowing you have some things written down can be beneficial.

While this can be very tricky to do in a physical job interview, one of the good things to come out of the Covid pandemic is that virtual job interviews are more popular. Many jobs are still work-from-home, which means job interviews can be done remotely.

A Zoom or Google Teams job interview has many perks. It's not only convenient not to have to travel anywhere, but also means you can have notes with you without the interviewer knowing.

However, it can look like you're slightly unprepared if you keep having to look down to refer to your notes.

Luckily, a job expert has shared a great tip which will allow you to have notes, while also making it look like you're still fully focused on the interviewer.

Beth Kendler, CEO of Next Great Step, a company which helps college students and graduates land a job, took to TikTok to share the "best hack if you have an interview or presentation".

She explained in a recent video: "You take a Post It note, you turn it upside down and you use the sticky side and you write your notes, really small, on the side that has the sticky on it.

"Then you're going to put it right next to the camera so when you're looking at the camera for your video interview or presentation it looks like you're looking straight ahead instead of looking down at your notes, which doesn't always look so great.

"You get to look directly at the camera. You have your notes right there and you look great during the [interview]."

In the comment section people thanked Beth for the tip, with one person saying: "I just did this not too long ago. But instead of a real post it, I used a post it app and lined them up on the top part of my monitor. So helpful!"

Another person, who had used the tip himself, said: "Great tip I did this for my current job. I put 'breathe' in big letters at end."

A third commented: "Best virtual interview hack I would say". Another added: "This is how I got my last 3 jobs lmao."

Other people also started sharing their tips, saying they would split the screen side by side with the video call and notes, or would just put the sticky notes directly on the screen.
