What time does transfer window close as Premier League clubs chase late deals
Premier League clubs have once again led the way in spending during the January transfer window, and time is running out for clubs to do their last bits of business.
Since the window opened in January, Premier League clubs have forked out hundreds of millions of pounds on new arrivals. Chelsea have led the way, signing Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar, loaning Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid, and throwing around £100m at the likes of Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke and Malo Gusto.
League leaders Arsenal have also been busy, bringing in Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior, while Liverpool and Newcastle have spent big on Cody Gakpo and Anthony Gordon respectively. Further down the table, Leeds have broken their transfer record to sign Georginio Rutter, and a number of the 20 top-flight clubs could yet make further additions.
When does the transfer window shut?
The January transfer window slams shut for Premier League clubs at 11pm on January 31. The same applies to the EFL, but other leagues have different end dates.
Any dealings with clubs in Italy and Germany will need to be wrapped up with their earlier deadlines in mind. That means 5pm for the Bundesliga and 7pm for Serie A, though Spain's window shuts at the same time as England's.

Clubs in Scotland and France will have a little longer to dot the Is and cross the Ts, with an 11.59 endpoint for both countries. As for the WSL, there's a 5pm deadline for domestic transfers and a midnight cut-off point for international deals.

Which leagues have longer transfer deadlines?
If Premier League clubs are unable to shift all of their deadwood before the end of the month, all is not lost. A number of overseas leagues will allow clubs to do business well into February, potentially paving the way for loans or permanent exits.
Mexican and Portuguese teams don't have a great deal longer. The Liga MX deadline is February 1, while teams from the Primeira Liga have until February 2 to complete their business.
The date is February 8 in Turkey and the UAE, February 10 in Australia and February 22 in Ireland. In the United States, meanwhile, players will be able to move to MLS right up until May 4.
What happened on transfer deadline day in 2022?
Teams in England had a busy day at the end of January 2022, with players on the move up and down the country. It all started when Christian Eriksen completed his move to Brentford on a short-term deal, though the Danish international has since found himself on the move again.
Eriksen's current Manchester United team-mate Wout Weghorst was also on the move at the end of January 2022, joining Burnley. Donny van de Beek, now back at Old Trafford, made a loan switch to Everton on the same day.
Spurs perhaps made the biggest immediate impact when they added Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski to their ranks last January, while Newcastle made a double swoop of their own with Matt Targett and Dan Burn moving to St James' Park. January deadline day was also when Manchester City clinched the signing of Julian Alvarez, though the striker ended last season back on loan at River Plate.
