A dazzling smile can set you back £20,000 in the UK - so it's no wonder many look abroad where it can be significantly cheaper.

And while countless holidaymakers come back beaming with their cut-price dentistry, for many it can all prove to be a disastrous mistake.

The costly process - often still around £4,000 abroad - involves shaving teeth down to the size of a peg before fitting the new set of veneers over the top of them.

But the process has left many in agony.

Some have struggled with their new set of gnashers for months, and may need to fly back to have them fixed - as some dentists in the UK are said to be reluctant to touch them.
