Harry Styles was one of the big winners at Sunday night's Grammy Awards - but his 78-year-old superfan stole the show.

The One Direction star, who was nominated for six Grammys, walked away with Best Pop Vocal Album and the most coveted award of the evening, Album of the Year, for 'Harry's House'.

The 29-year-old put on a top performance of 'As It Was' before picking up his awards at the 65th annual edition in Los Angeles - and the most excited person in the room was a Canadian great-grandmother.

Reina, from Sudbury, Ontario, announced Harry's Album of the Year win, then the singer ran up on stage to give her a massive hug.

Super fans of each of the nominees gathered around a table to talk about their favourite artists, with Reina telling host Trevor Noah she was "more than excited" and had "been crying".

In a pre-recorded video, Reina's granddaughter said the 78-year-old was Harry's "number one fan" and they had flown to Los Angeles together to see him in concert.

"Aside form being good looking, .... I love everything about him," said Reina, who wore colourful boas and sunglasses to see him perform.

"I love his outlook, his songs and with Harry he has that thing that draws people to him.

"If the Grammys did their job, he's getting that award."

After watching the touching moment, many viewers took to Twitter to claim Reina had stolen the show.

One viewer tweeted: "One of my favorite moments of the night, when Harry Styles ran on stage to hug Reina, his number one fan!"

"Seeing a grandmother from Sudbury, Ontario cheering on Harry Styles at the Grammys is not something I expected to see tonight but it was incredibly awesome," added another.

A third said: "HARRY HUGGING REINA WAS SO ADORABLE PLEASE MY HEART"

Harry turned heads with a number of flamboyant outfits on both the red carpet and while performing on stage - and gave an emotional speech after winning the top prize.

The shocked pop star said: "Um, man. I've been so, so inspired by every artist in this category with me.

"At a lot of different times in my life, I listened to everyone in this category when I'm alone.

"And I think like on nights like tonight, it's obviously so important for us to remember that there is no such thing as bests in music.'

"I don't think any of us sit in the studio thinking making decisions based on what is going to get us one of these.'

"This is really, really kind. I'm so, so grateful. I'm going to pass it over to my collaborators who are -- I'm just so this doesn't happen to people like me very often. And this is so, so nice. Thank you very, very much."

His album saw off impressive competition, which included ABBA - Voyage, Adele - 30, Bad Bunny - Un Verano Sin Ti, Beyoncé - Renaissance, Brandi Carlile - In These Silent Days, Coldplay - Music of the Spheres, Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, Lizzo - Special, and Mary J. Blige - Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe).

Harry also won the award for Pop vocal album - and shared his gratitude towards "everyone who inspired this album" and his loved ones who "supported" him throughout the process.

He claimed making third solo album Harry's House, which nabbed him the gong, was the "greatest experience of my life".

"For making it with two of my best friends, to playing it for people has been the greatest joy I could have asked for," he said.

"Everyone who inspired this album, everyone, all my friends who supported me through it. Thank you so much. I wouldn't be here without you. Thank you so much."

Harry also had a somewhat awkward reunion with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, who he dated from 2012 until 2013.

The former couple shared a moment - and Taylor could be seen standing up and clapping along with the rest of those attending the ceremony when he won his awards.

Harry's outfits also won him praise, as the Watermelon Sugar singer wore a low cut sleeveless Swarovski jumpsuit

The glamorous attire, which featured flared legs, was made up of a multi-coloured range of triangles and appeared to be a glittery version of his Love On Tour outfit.

Then for a rendition of his heavily-nominated song 'As It Was', the star donned a custom silver sequin-embroidered T-shirt and sequin-fringed trousers by Gucci.

Reina wasn't the only woman with her eyes on Harry, as singer Sheryl Crow spoke out about her "old lady crush" on the One Direction star.

She told People: "I've like an old lady crush. I think my kids would say cringey."

Elsewhere, Beyoncé became the most decorated artist of all time at the awards as she lifted four awards – beating Adele to the Record of the Year

However, the Single Ladies singer missed the big moment as she was stuck in traffic and was late into the Crypto.com Arena.
