Britney Spears’ team denies claims of "erratic behaviour" during Los Angeles restaurant outing
Britney Spears reps have denied reports that she left diners stunned by her behaviour during a night out at a Los Angeles restaurant this week.
Witnesses previously claimed the singer appeared distressed and erratic while eating with a mystery companion.
The reports detailed that the pop icon visited the Blue Dog Tavern on Wednesday evening, where several diners allegedly witnessed increasingly unusual behaviour throughout the meal.
Sources cited by TMZ claimed Spears appeared visibly agitated at points during the evening, allegedly shouting, raising her voice and even making barking noises inside the restaurant.
One particularly alarming moment reportedly saw the singer walking past diners while holding a knife, leaving some patrons concerned she could accidentally hurt herself or somebody nearby.
Witnesses also claimed Spears was dining with an unidentified man, with the pair sharing food during the meal. At one point, she allegedly told him ‘I love you’, though observers reportedly couldn’t tell whether the comment was heartfelt, playful or part of the wider chaotic atmosphere.
Restaurant staff were also said to have intervened after Spears allegedly lit a cigarette near the entrance.

The singer was later reportedly escorted home by members of her security team.
Spears’ team has now said that the reports have been ‘blown out of proportion,’ and that Britney was ‘enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard.’
They went on to say that at one point she was telling a story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors.
They continued: ‘At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half.’
The reported incident comes during another turbulent chapter for Spears, who recently resolved a DUI case after pleading guilty last week, just months after her arrest.
It also follows reports that the singer missed a recent family celebration marking her niece Maddie’s high school graduation.
The Toxic singer was arrested in California on March 4 after she was seen driving ‘erratically’.
Police said Spears ‘showed signs of impairment and submitted to a series of field sobriety tests’ after being pulled over.

Spears, who police said was alone in her black BMW 430i, was arrested for ‘driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol’ and taken to Ventura County Main Jail, northwest of Los Angeles.
A representative at the time said the ‘unfortunate incident’ was ‘completely inexcusable’, adding it would ideally be ‘the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life’.
‘Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for wellbeing.’
Spears has frequently made headlines in recent years over concerns surrounding her wellbeing following the end of her conservatorship in 2021.
