Aristocrat 'gave birth in car' before going missing with baby and rapist partner

An aristocrat who has been missing for over two weeks may have given birth in the back of her car prior to her disappearance.

Constance Marten — who comes from a prominent wealthy family with links to the royals — vanished alongside her new born baby and sex offender partner Mark Gordon on January 5.

The couple left their car after it broke down and caught on fire near junction four of the M61 near Bolton.

They were spotted walking along the hard shoulder of the motorway, Constance holding the baby, and then walked to Anchor Lane Bridge - but appear to have been avoiding police desperately searching for them since.

Sources have told Manchester Evening News that placenta was found in the back seat of the couple's shared vehicle by fire crews.

Police are reported to believe that the baby was born in the car between one or two days before the trio went missing.

Officers said that their concern is growing as they have "no evidence" to suggest that either Constance or her new born baby have been seen by medical professionals.

The couple first got a taxi from Anchor Lane Bridge to Liverpool, before then getting another one to Harwich in Essex.

Police said they also believe the pair may have used fake names to check into a B&B and that they have a substantial amount of cash allowing them to live off-grid.

Marten and Gordon were last sighted January 7 at East Ham station in Newham, east London, between 11.45am and 12:30pm.

They are understood to have first met in 2016 and have led an isolated life since, with former drama student Constance cutting off ties with her family and friends.

Mr Gordon spent 20 years in a US prison for rape and battery, in 2010 he was deported back to the UK and placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
