Drone sightings prompt partial closure at Copenhagen airport, two arrested in Oslo
Two people have been arrested in Oslo in connection with a drone alert.
At the same time, a massive police operation is underway at Copenhagen Airport due to drones.
“There are police everywhere, and almost the entire airport is cordoned off,” said a Swedish national, Andreas, who is at Kastrup.
Around 9 p.m., parts of Copenhagen Airport were closed off because of drones.
Copenhagen police wrote on X that the situation involves two to three large drones.
The airspace has been shut, and a major police operation is ongoing at the airport.
At least 35 flights have been redirected, including to Malmö Airport, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, Billund, and Aarhus.
Andreas, who is at the airport, said large parts of the facility have been cordoned off.
“I’m sitting out in the parking lot now. I’m here to pick up my wife, but she is currently on a flight circling in the air,” he said.
He added: “It’s a massive police operation.”
Shortly after 9 p.m., a drone alert was also reported over the military area of Akershus Fortress in Oslo.
According to Operations Chief Øyvind Hammersvold, the drones were detected by the military.
