Woman dies in Southampton flat fall: police launch murder investigation
A murder investigation has been initiated after a woman died from a fall from a block of flats.
Emergency services were alerted at 2:43 pm on Thursday (28 August) to a location on Cuckmere Lane in Southampton, Hampshire, following reports of a woman having fallen from the flats.
The 25-year-old woman was discovered with severe injuries and succumbed to them in the hospital the next day.
Police stated they are searching for a man they believe was present at the address when the fatal fall occurred.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary mentioned: "Officers are pursuing lines of inquiry to identify a man within the property at the time of the incident."
The woman’s family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers, the force added.
Officers remained on Cuckmere Lane on Sunday (31 August), with patrols planned for the surrounding area.
